Orlando Magic Players, History:

Most NBA fans remember the Orlando Magic as the expansion team who had Shaq Oneal lead their franchise to the NBA Finals against the Houston Rockets. Shaq was a huge part of the Magic, but the team has changed dramatically since Shaq was traded to the Lakers. Orlando first became an NBA team in 1989 and they immediately became a contender thanks in large part to Shaq and Penny Hardaway leading the way. Nick Anderson and Dennis Scott were drafted a few years before Orlando selected Shaq #1 in the 1992 draft, with the hopes of building a young team. O'neal became an All-Star in his first year and the rookie of the year, however the Magic didn't make the playoffs which dissapointed a lot of new fans in Florida. The next season saw Anfernee Hardaway join the team and help the Magic win 50 games on their way to a playoff berth. Orlando would lose to Indiana Pacers in the playoffs, but it was a great year for a young team. The Magic would make it all the way to the NBA Finals in the 1994-1995 season before losing to Houston (with Akeem Olajuwon, Kenny Smith, and Vernon Maxwell leading the way) in only 4 games as the Magic were swept. Shaq left to the LA Lakers the next year and Orlando has never been back to the NBA Finals since. The Magic had some decent teams at the end of the 90's with Penny Hardaway leading the team, but with ongoing injuries and a poor supporting cast Orlando never seemed to get back their competitive basketball spirit. In 2000 the Magic acquired Grant Hill and Tracy Mcgrady (considered by many scouts to be 2 of the best players in the league), unfortunately Hill only played 4 games due to an ankle injury as the Magic did sneak into the playoffs. The next few years would see the Magic bounce in and out of the post season as they had to face teams like Detroit, Miami, and Indiana on a nightly basis. The 2004 draft would see the Magic select high school phenom Dwight Howard with the number one pick, and Steve Francis was also acquired by the Magic around this time. Orlando once again is looking to get back into the playoffs come 2007, but with teams like the Hawks, Bulls, and 76ers all playing well it could be a really long season for Magic fans cheering on their team at the TD Waterhouse Centre. For news on their rookie JJ Reddick and other info on the Magic check out nba.com/magic/.

Orlando Magic Cheerleaders, Pictures:

Are you a Magic fan and want to find photos or information on the Orlando Magic Dancers (Cheerleaders)? The official website for the dancers is nba.com/magic/dancers where you can find everything from photos, wallpapers, bios, news, history and even videos of your favorite Orlando girls in action on the sidelines. The Orlando Dancers are a group of quality girls who also put on clinics and camps in the local area for young girls who want to find out more about being an NBA cheerleader or dancer. This year there are 20 sexy girls who made the dance squad in Orlando and a few of the favorites are Amanda, April, and Jane. Make sure to get out to the TD Waterhouse Centre and help the girls cheer on the Magic this season at the home games.

Where can I find Orlando Magic Tickets, Jerseys, Schedule, and Merchandise?:

Like most NBA fans, the Orlando Magic fans are diehards and love to attend home games in Florida. The cheapest seat for a Magic game will cost you $10 (this is a really cheap seat in the upper level), but you can still be at the game and cheer for the Magic as they battle with the Eastern Conference. Depending on the team the Magic are playing, courtside seats can run from $200 all the way up to $500 or more if the Miami Heat, or Detroit Pistons are in town. The best website we found for buying tix was ticketmaster.com. Ticketmaster has a great selection of seats and an easy to use website (which mad us very happy when shopping online) along with parking info and directions to the arena. Another popular ticket option these days is to buy a package deal where you purchase multiple tickets for children between the ages of 7-14 ( one package is Magic Ballkid Package - where you get up close and personal with the NBA players). If you are shopping for NBA merchandise this year and want to beat the Holiday rush check out nba.com/magic where you can buy everything from a blanket, shoes, hats, jerseys, trading cards, and even a Magic trash can. A good gift item for Christmas is the Orlando Magic blanket which will cost you $29.99, or just stick with the faithful Magic Jersey (mens size) which starts at $59 and can cost you as much as $200 depending on what style you want (authentic, replica, etc.). For the Magic home game schedule and current basketball events in Orlando check out nba.com/magic/schedule/.

Orlando Magic Fan sites:

Are you a Magic fan and feel like showing your Orlando Magic spirit? If you want to help spread the buzz about the Magic and their current roster then you should consider building a fansite (a website built specifically for the Magic). There are numerous Orlando Magic fan sites online to check out, but we found the best one to be orlandomagicfan.com. This website offers news, trade talk, photos, wallpapers, and even links to other Magic websites. It is a great place to start when you are trying to put together your own fansite and need some basic ideas. Most basketball fans search the internet for news on their local teams and the Orlando Magic is no exception. Check out tripod.com for help on building a free website and getting some design pointers for a novice webmaster.
