Philadelphia Players, History:The Philadelphia 76ers have been around since 1946 and joined the NBA in 1949. They were a dominant team in the 1980's and Dr J was their leader during those times. Charles Barkley joined the 76ers in 1985 and played there for over 10 years until he was traded to the Phoenix Suns where he retired. The new generation of 76ers is Allen Iverson, who has become one of the top 3 players in the NBA and one of the best players of all time. The 76ers played the LA Lakers in 2001 for the NBA Title, but ended up losing in 5 games to Kobe and Shaq. With the addition of Chris Weber the 76ers actually have a legitimate shot in 2006 to win it all and bring back the good days to Philadelphia.
