The Steelers have always been league contenders and have won 6 SuperBowl titles in their teams history. With great players like Terry Bradshaw, Mean Joe Greene, Jack Lambert, Lynn Swann, Franco Harris, and John Stallworth making up the teams in the 1970's the Steelers produced a true dynasty in the NFL. The team continued into the 1980's with more great play and narrowly missing the SuperBowl in 1983. Legendary coach Chuch Noll retired in 1991 and Bill Cowher took over. Cowher is a players type of coach and continually gets more from his players every year than any other coach in the league. The 2000's have been better to the Steelers and they have again challenged for best team in the league only to get beaten by the New England Patriots in the playoffs. With Ben Roethlisberger and Hines Ward, the Pittsburgh Steelers won that elusive 6th Superbowl for the team in 2009. The official website is online at Steelers.com and you can follow the team throughout the season. With a dominating defense led by Troy Polamalu and James Harrison, the Steelers are looking to break through once again.
