In 1976 the Tampa Bay Buccaneers became the NFL's 27th franchise. The Buccaneers have had good and bad times but all past memories were forgotten when in January of 2003, the Bucs defeated the Oakland Raiders in SuperBowl XXXVII 48-21 to win the teams first Lombardi Trophy under Jon Gruden. They have gone through their share of players, but the current bunch of guys are doing a great job. Quarterbacks like Chris Simms and Brian Griese have come and gone. Now it's Byon Leftwich who leads the team through the 2009-2010 season. The patented Tampa defense is still agressive as ever and delivering hits heard round the league with players like Ronde Barber and Chris Hovan. The off-season pickup of Kellen Winslow Jr. was a big acquisition and I hope he helps their offense. The official Tampa Bay website is at Buccaneers.com with team stats, rosters, news, history, tickets, RJ Stadium, cheerleaders, and media files. You can even locate all the past rosters with players like Doug Williams and Brad Johnson.
