Utah Jazz Players, History:

When most basketball fans think of the Utah Jazz, they picture John Stockton passing the ball down low to Karl Malone (like the Jazz did for 15 years night after night). It was a great system that Utah had developed in the Western Conference, but it was never enough to win the NBA Title. The Utah Jazz first joined the NBA back in 1974 and have been a competitive franchise ever since. The Jazz are in the Northwest Division and play their home games at the Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City. There have been a lot of famous names over the years that have coached and played for the Utah Jazz like Jerry Sloan, John Stockton, Carlos Boozer, Karl Malone, and Jeff Hornacek. Even with all that talent the Jazz have always been known as a hard nose team with a good work ethic and a love for their fans (the players also like to win games). The 1970's were an inconsistent decade for the Jazz and they were never really considered a great team. In 1979 the Jazz traded for Adrian Dantley (an NBA legend) from the LA Lakers and went on to build a good team in the early 80's with the addition of Darrell Griffith and Mark Eaton. Utah stayed a mediocre team until 1985 when they drafted John Stockton (from Gonzaga University) and Karl Malone who would become one of the best tandems in NBA history. Check out nba.com/jazz to find out about the Jazz teams of the past and the present day roster. The Jazz made it to the playoffs many times in the 80's and 90's, but it wasn't until the 1996-1997 season that Utah put all the pieces in place and made it to the NBA Finals (where they would lose to Michael Jordan and the Bulls). The Jazz made it back to the finals the next year and lost again to the Bulls with Jordan, Rodman and Pippen leading the way for Chicago to repeat. Utah has struggled since the late 90's to be a competitive team although in 2006 they are playing great ball and the sky is the limit for them. Watch out for players like Carlos Boozer and Andre Kirilenko to lead Utah back to the top of the NBA.

Utah Jazz Cheerleaders - Dancers, Pictures:

If you are a fan of the Jazz then the odds are that you enjoy their cheerleaders (dancers) known as the Nu Skin Dancers. Candace, Jessica, and Jamie are a few of the popular girls that make up the 16 girl dance squad. For more info on the girls (or to check out pictures and wallpapers) go to the official Jazz site at nba.com/jazz where you will find a great looking website. The Jazz Dancers are a group of talented women with various backgrounds and history, but on the court the girls join forces to help entertain the loyal fans at all the Jazz home games. Keep your eyes out for a possible dancers calendar in 2007.

Where can I buy Utah Jazz Tickets, Jerseys, Schedule, and Merchandise?:

Do you want to buy Jazz merchandise or tickets? If you love the Jazz and want to wear their jerseys and hats check out their NBA store online at store.nba.com where you can purchase anything that has the Jazz logo on it. A Carlos Boozer jersey will cost you between $75 and $200 (depending on what type of jersey you want like authentic or replica, etc.) although the hats are reasonably priced and can be bought for under $20. You can buy things like mugs, golf bags, sweats, trading cards, and even Jazz socks if you really want to. The hottest ticket in the NBA today is a ticket to a Jazz home game. Now that Utah is playing good basketball again their fans are showing up to cheer them on. If you want to buy tickets to a Jazz home game try stubhub.com and be ready to spend a little cash for a good seat. If you just want to attend a home game and don't care where you sit in the arena then you can pick up an upper level seat for as cheap as $10, not a bad price for 2006. If you want to sit courtside be prepared to pay closer to $500 a seat at a big game like when Miami, Detroit, or San Antonio is in town for the night. If you need to see the Utah Jazz home schedule before you can pick a game to attend try the website at nba.com/jazz/schedule/.

Utah Jazz Fansites:

Being a Utah Jazz fan is a lot of fun and one way to become a bigger part of the team is to start a Jazz fan site. Most Utah Jazz fanatics collect trading cards and sports memorabilia, but some of the diehard fans also build websites dedicated to their beloved Jazz. The best Utah Jazz fansite we found online was at jazzhoops.net which is a great basketball resource. You can find Jazz wallpapers, pictures, rumors, injury updates, and even stats and player news. If you want to build your own fansite just search on Yahoo or Google for " Utah Jazz fansites" and you will find plenty of Jazz websites that can give you some great ideas. Another good site for website builders (especially beginners) is tripod.com, where you can get design tips and most importantly they will show you how to host your website for free.
