Washington Redskins - History - Players:The Washington Redskins franchise has been treated to some special players and teams throughout the years with the best years in the 1980's under Joe Theismann and Doug Williams at quarterback. Other top players have included Bobby Mitchell, Sonny Jurgenson, Charley Taylor, Larry Brown, Art Monk, Darrell Green, Charles Mann, Mark Rypien, Santana Moss, LaVar Arrington, Champ Bailey, and Chris Samuels. The Washington Redskins have won 3 SuperBowls (1983, 1988, 1992) in their history and with the current team just starting to play better the last few seasons, we expect good things for 2009 from the Redskins and into 2009. The acquisition of Antwaan Randle El makes for an interesting combination at receiver with Santana Moss on the other wing. Clinton Portis should do well running the ball and if they can get steady quarterbacking from Jason Campbell, the Redskins will make the playoffs with a great defense. The Redskin cheerleaders are many and the official Skins website does them justice with complete bios, photo albums and age. You can purchase an autographed cheerleading squad photo for $20. The main attraction is the Washington Redskin cheerleader swimsuit calendar which features all the girls for $16.95. It's a 16 month calendar that is sure to be a classic. The team also offers cheerleading trading cards of the Washington Redskins cheerleaders. You can get the entire 40 cards autographed by each girl for $150. The Fanzone section of the Redskins website has wallpaper size photos available free for download of Jason Campbell, Santana Moss, Clinton Portis, Chris Cooley, Marcus Washington, and Cornelius Griffin. There is a piece of software you can download called Redskinsdirect which sits on your desktop and keeps you up to date on the latest news from training camps, schedules, and games. Washington Redskins Fan sites:If you are a Washington Redskins fan, then you have heard of the Hoggets. They are a group of guys who dress up like lifesize female pigs and sit down near the endzone. They loved players like John Riggins and still suport the team today. The best fan site we found was dedicated to these guys and called TheHogs.net with team info, downloads (desktop wallpaper images), news articles, and game day specials. Thewarpath.net is an excellent site that features message boards with comments and feature articles on players, team news, and tickets. Extremeskins.com offers forums with info on the stadium tailgating, classifieds for Redskins apparel, and a nice graphics section with photos and pictures.
