For most people, a trip to Anaheim, California means one thing - Disneyland. What used to be orange groves turned into southern Calif. urban sprawl, with home, malls, and businesses wedged between the ever present Calif. freeways. Anaheim also attracts a lot of business travelers, with the Anaheim Convention Center right across the street from Disneyland. Most hotels in Anaheim that are a few blocks from the Disney park cater to families visiting Disneyland -- if you don't want to be part of this crowd, pick a spot at least half a mile from the park. If you are planning on visiting the park, then by all means check out the hotels closest to the park first. You can find cheap Anaheim hotels right across the street for Disney, that cost 1/2 of what you will pay to stay at one of the official Disney properties, the same distance away.
