Myrtle Beach is a beautiful beach destination in South Carolina not too far north from Charleston. Myrtle Beach offers dozens of hotels and beachfront resorts with golf, tennis, and pool activities. Hotels range from cheap to the very expensive resorts that dot the coastline in Myrtle Beach. You will find most of the most popular hotels are located on either north or south Ocean Boulevard. An excellent oceanfront hotel is the Hampton Inn & Suites Myrtle Beach with rooms starting at around $150/night (summer) and oceanfront suites going for $220/night or more. There's nothing better than being right on the beach and this Hampton Inn will give you just that. Another favorite location of mine is the Sea Watch Resort with oceanfront rooms starting at $115 and nice 2 bedroom condos starting at $179/night. The resort offers lots of fun stuff for kids to do allowing parents to have a few hours alone.

Looking for a bit more luxury in a hotel, you'll love the Myrtle Beach Marriott Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes on Costa Verde Drive. This resort has over 400 guest rooms and is great for business travelers as well as those on a leisurely vacation. In the summer, you will find rooms priced at about $280/night and upwards. Relax by their pool or walk a few steps to the beach and enjoy the South Carolina sunshine. Roxanne Towers will treat you well with rates starting at $120/night. The towers are only minutes from the Broadway on the Beach and the convention center. The hotel offers oceanfront pools and some gorgeous views of the Atlantic Ocean. Island Vista is another luxury property that we say is better suited for a romantic weekend than one with the kids in tow. The hotel/resort has great dining, a beautiful pool area, and the opportunity to play golf or tennis. Myrtle Beach is a great place to visit but remember that hurricanes have been known to venture through this area periodically.
