Best Oahu Golf Vacations: Where to play golf in Oahu and Hawaii
If you are looking to enjoy some golf during your Honolulu vacation, you will not be disappointed. Being the most populated of all the Hawaiian Islands, Oahu is home to a large number of pulic golf courses. While you may visit Oahu in search of sun and relaxation, the memories of 18 holes played along strings of pineapple and coconut trees are not to be missed (send your loved one to a Honolulu spa for the day, everyone is happy!). Most are in the Honolulu area, but you will find a number around north shore resorts as well. Check out some of the golf courses listed below:
Honolulu Golf
Luana Hills Golf Course (770 Auloa Road, Kailua), sometimes called Jurassic Park due to the jungle surroundings, is a Dye Brothers creation, filled with challenging tee shots (love those island greens!). Set below the Ko'olau Mountains, this is a great course. Ko'olau Golf Course (45-550 Kionaole Road, Kaneohe) is set below the Pali Lookout, and is another beautiful course with spectacular island scenery. Kapolei Golf Course is just west of Pearl Harbor in Kapolei (91-701 Farrington Highway Kapolei). You'll face water hazards on more than half the holes and more than 80 bunkers on this course. Heading north, you'll find Turtle Bay and its two courses. Far from Honolulu, the Turtle Bay George Fazio designed course is part of the larger resort, which is a great escape from the Waikiki area. There is also a Palmer Course at Turtle Bay - the front nine here is open to the sea while the back nine takes you through a pine forest.
