Toronto is a very diverse city in Canada that offers hotels with city views, waterfront views, and much more. No matter where you stay, you should be able to walk to most of the attractions or be a short taxi away from them. I stayed down at the waterfront in the Westin Harbour Castle hotel that has 977 rooms in twin towers that rise up 38 stories above the water. The views are majestic and the restaurant at the top slowly turns (360 degrees) to give you a gorgeous view of the entire city while you eat. We walked to the CN Tower and theater district with no problems. Ideally you want to book a room at a hotel near the center of the city or at least where you will be doing most of your siteseeing. If you are not familiar with the city layout of Toronto, go to Toronto.ca and check out their map pages to see an overview of the city.
The Fairmont Royal York is near the Union Station for those arriving or departing by train. The Renaissance Toronto Downtown is a hotel near the Rogers Centre and CN Tower. As for easy access to the Air Canada Centre, check out the Park Hyatt Toronto down below. Even if you stay further out near King St. W., the Holiday Inn on King is certainly within walking distance to the major attractions. Along the waterfront, I took a trolley car from the Westin Harbour Castle down Queens Quay East to a breakfast spot one morning. If you plan on taking a boat tour of the harbor then trying staying down on the waterfront for easy access to the ferries. The Radisson Plaza Admiral is another top waterfront hotel in Toronto with excellent views of the city or water. Room rates vary by hotel and the US dollar has lost some of its buying power over the Canadian currency in recent years so expect to spend at least $150/night for a good hotel room and more like $200/night for a nice place.
