Reviews: Best Stockton Hotels

Stockton, California isn't the largest city in the California Central Valley (Fresno, Sacramento, and Bakersfield are larger), but there is plenty of business travelers that pass through this region every day. As you wind up or down I-5 or Hwy 99, Stockton sits in the middle and Hwy 4 runs straight through the center of town. Stockton has about 290,000 residents partly due to the housing boom (and subsequent bust) of all those that work in the Bay Area but have chosen to live 90 miles east in Stockton for cheaper housing. You won't find any massive resorts or even luxury hotels to choose from, but there are plenty of adequte hotels in the area. March Lane seems to host many of the hotels in this region like the Stockton Courtyard, Residence Inn, or even the Stockton Grand Hotel located just off March Ln. on Grand Canal Blvd.
stockton hotels

The newest hotel in town is the Sheraton Stockton that features 179 guest rooms and suites. The rates are very reasonable at about $150/night which is a great deal considering the accommodations are 4 star quality. Parents who are visiting their college age kids attending the University of the Pacific-Stockton would find the Sheraton close to the college and a nice place to stay. Another top rated hotel is the Marriott Courtyard in Stockton which is on the west side of I-5 on March Lane. The hotel has all the amenities one would want and the prices are very reasonable. I paid about $120/night and they even have a nice outdoor pool. Considering that the weather in Stockton is very hot in the summer (90's and 100's), you will want to make sure the hotel or motel you choose has a working pool so you can cool off. As for business travelers requiring a longer stay, consider the Extended StayAmerica Stockton also on March Lane. Rates are fairly cheap at about $80/night and you get a kitchen, on site laundry, wireless Internet, a full workspace, and much more. Almost all hotels we have listed below offer queen, king, double beds, or large suites for any occasion. We found that many hotels charge between $80 and $130 per night depending on # of beds and days of the week you need the lodging. If you get off I-5 at exit 476 you will be on March Lane where there are lots of hotels to choose from. Call ahead to guarantee your reservation or visit the websites to secure your room rates and nights online.

Stockton, CA Vacation Tips, Recommendations, and Advice: Suggestions for a better Trip!:

Stockton is located a little south of Sacramento (the state capitol of California) and about 90 miles east of the San Francisco region. Although there is not a lot to do within Stockton in terms of tourist stuff, you are easily a few hours from all that San Francisco offers, and a highlight of any trip would be visiting Yosemite National Park which is a short distance to the east as you head Hwy 120 from Manteca. Stockton can be very hot in the summer, so be prepared for temperatures near 100. There are some water parks within the Stockton and Manteca regions that would be a great spot to visit on one of those hot days. March Lane is loaded with restaurants like Outback Steakhouse, Tona Romas, El Toritos, and many more. Pick your favorite and relax in the warm sunshine.
