Dollar Rental Cars:Dollar is one of the top rated rental car companies in the business. They have over 600 locations in 53 countries worldwide with services in Canada, the U.S., South America, Mexico, and many more. Dollar is a part of the Chrysler brand and therefore features there cars like Sebring and Chrysler 300. With on-airport and off-site locations to choose from, Dollar is virtually in every major metro area in America. By partnering with airlines like Southwest, Delta, Northwest, and Continental, they are able to give some of the best rates on rental cars amongst the competition. The website, Dollar.com is loaded with last minute deals, specials, and information on their frequent rental club - Dollar Express. I have rented many vehicles in the Southern California region with Dollar and had good experiences for the most part. The one thing that annoys me the most are the lines at rental car facilities to check out your car. It always seems like the person in front of you is taking forever and I used to wait up to 45 minutes in some locations before I got smart and joined the Dollar Express club which we go into more detail below.
Renting a Car with Dollar:If you need to rent a car, Dollar has a great website at Dollar.com that guides you through the rental process step by step. The Internet isn't for everyone so they still offer a reservation phone number at 1-800-800-3665. I prefer to book my rental over the web since it allows me to try various coupon codes and discount rates to see which ones offer the biggest savings. Just type in your location of rental (airport codes are the easiest way to go) and then enter your dates of renting. Most locations offer a variety of cars from compact to mid-size to luxury cars and even SUVs or minivans. Some of the discount codes mentioned in the paragraph below will get you excellent pricing on your rental so be sure to visit the site mentioned below first. If you are like me and hate waiting in lines when you are traveling, then consider joining the Dollar Express frequent rental club (it's FREE) and eliminate the long lines at the counter and get in your car within minutes. As for the supplemental insurance and additional coverage they offer you at check-out, unless your credit card or personal automobile insurance policy doesn't cover you (almost all do), then get it. Also, make a good decision on pre-paying for gas or filling up the tank when you bring the car back to the airport. I usually decline the prepay option and just fill the tank on my way back to the airport. Don't forget to do this or else you will be paying $6/gallon when Dollar has to fill the gas up for you.Dollar Rental Coupons:The rental car industry is very competitive and everywhere you look there are discount codes and coupons you can use to get an even better rate on your rental. One of the best sources is signing up at Dollar.com for their email newsletter program that has special rates, printable coupons, and more. You will also find last minute deals on the website that aren't listed anywhere else. As for coupons, we always prefer to go to http://www.mousesavers.com/dollar.html. This site is updated regularly with the latest discounts, codes, and coupons that you can use with Dollar rental cars. The promo codes listed on the site will give you things like weekly rates that are discounted, 10% off a weekend rental, and corporate codes that save you $25 on a weekly rental.
