Fairfield Inn Idaho Falls Review:

Normally I wouldn't be anywhere near Idaho Falls, ID, but on our way from Portland Oregon to Yellowstone we had to stop somewhere. We had never been to Idaho Falls so when I searched for hotels I tried to pick something that would be near the actual waterfalls in the city. I am a Marriott reward member so the Fairfield Inn made sense in terms of location and amenities. A nice surprise was checking into the hotel and finding out that they had given us an upgrade to a suite - without us even having to ask. The hotel is right off of I-15 and Hwy 20. Just 1/2 mile away is the Snake River that winds through town. We had dinner along the Porter Canal at a restaurant called The Sandpiper Restaurant. They had a good selection of seafood and stuff for our kids. The lady at the front desk of the Fairfield Inn recommended the restaurant and I would say it was a good choice.

Back to the hotel. There are 3 floors with 64 rooms (17 suites). They have an indoor pool, complimentary on-site parking, and wireless internet access throughout the hotel. The swimming pool was small, but certainly more than adequate for our 2 kids. I wish it had been outdoors because indoor pool rooms can get very humid - this one definitely was. The official website is at http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/idafi-fairfield-inn-and-suites-idaho-falls/. You can choose between rooms with 2 queen beds, 1 king, or the larger queen or king suites with a sitting area and pull out sofa couch. I thought the rooms were clean and the hotel had a new look to it. There are other options for hotels, closer to the water, like Best Western, Shilo Inn, and Hotel on the Falls. We visited Yellowstone Bear World the morning we left, so the was conveniently located - just 20 minutes away to see the bears. The breakfast was just right in the morning, we made waffles, had a bite of fruit, and the kids had some cereal and juice. Breakfast was complimentary.

Idaho Falls Fairfield Inn Hotel Rooms:

The one thing that any traveler expects is a clean room and that was delivered at the Fairfield Inn in Idaho Falls. The front desk clerk was friendly and as I mentioned above they upgraded us to a suite which is always a nice gesture. The hotel was quiet at night and we heard no noise from our neighboring rooms which is also great. The TV's were easy to use - no having to guess on how the features of the remote control work. The microwave was used to reheat some food we had brought with us. The bathroom was large enough for 2 people to brush their teeth at the same time or get ready in the morning. The towels were fresh smelling and thicker than at some hotel chains. Overall, I use Fairfield Inns because they are conveniently located, the rooms are good size, and the complimentary breakfast is great so that you don't have to go off site to get food or beverages first thing in the morning. I would highly recommend this location for those traveling from the west coast into Yellowstone or the Grand Tetons.
