Are you planning a trip to Las Vegas, NV? Do you need to find a cheap hotel? Believe it or not there are still some really good hotel rooms in Vegas for under $75 a night. I have lived in Las Vegas for 3 years now and it seems that every day there are more and more tourists coming to "Sin City". Everybody is familiar with the expensive casinos in Las Vegas (Mirage, Wynn, Rio, Hard Rock, Mgm, Paris), but I have noticed that most tourists don't know much about the cheaper, older resorts. Places like Ballys, Tropicana, and the Sahara have been around for years which makes some people think they are not worth staying at (or checking out). This could not be further from the truth and actually some of the smaller casinos offer deals and shows that the big resorts can't. For example, at the Bellagio you can only use the pool as a guest (or if you are with a guest of the hotel) while at a place like the Sahara I have used the pool many times in the summer without any hassle and I was not staying there. Of course the new mega resorts are amazing (with amenities like spas, salons, gourmet restaurants, etc.) and that is why the rates they charge are so much more than the smaller hotels in Vegas. Mandalay Bay is a great hotel that will charge $110 in February for a room on a Tuesday night, on the other hand you can stay at the Sahara for only $45 (that is less than half the price) and spend the money you save gambling. Wherever you decide to stay, Las Vegas will be a good time and we hope to save you a little money on your trip with our hotel reviews below.
Las Vegas Cheap Hotels:
Las Vegas is a city that survives on gambling and big paydays for guests that travel here all year round. We reviewed many of the cheaper hotels in Vegas and have listed our favorites below like Excalibur, Hooters, Flamingo, Harrahs, and the Luxor. We consider hotels that are under $80 a night to be a cheap hotel in Vegas (not quality, just price) so that is what we reviewed. 1. Monte Carlo from $69.95 - 90,000 sq ft casino, shops, pool, clubs, wedding chapel and great restaurants. This is a great deal for a 3.5 star hotel on the Vegas strip, you won't be dissapointed and next door is the Bellagio and New York New York. 2. Harrahs Casino from $69.95 - located between the Venetian and the Imperial Palace Harrahs is full of excitement. They also offer a full spa, workout center, great piano bar inside and if you get bored just walk across Las Vegas Blvd. to Mirage or Treaure Island. 3. Hooters Hotel from $49.95 - this was San Remo and now as Hooters Casino you get to enjoy the lovely ladies in the orange shorts, a cool lounge with live music near the gaming area and of course the world famous Hooters restaurant. Hooters is a fun casino that provides a great atmoshpere for locals and tourists alike. 4. The Gold Coast Casino from $69.95 - at the Gold Coast you will find a bowling alley, great dining, table games with over 120,000 sq ft in the casino area. You can check out their website at goldcoastcasino.com where you can book a room or just view what the hotel offers before you make a reservation. As a local to Las Vegas I would highly recommend checking out the Gold Coast on your next trip. 5. Palms Casino - this place is awesome and you can grab a room from only $79.95 which puts you right in the middle of the action. The Palms is located on Flamingo Blvd (right across from the Rio resort) and is within walking distance to the strip. If you like to party then you will enjoy The Ghostbar and club Rain (2 legendary nightclubs) where you can dance till the sunrise. For more information on the Palms check them out online at palms.com
Las Vegas Hotel Reservation:
Do you want to make a hotel reservation for Las Vegas? If you are planning a trip to Vegas remember that on average 90 % of all hotel rooms are booked on any given day. That means that you had better plan ahead to assure yourself a place sleep, and by reserving a rooom ahead of time you probably will save a little cash also. There are hundreds of travel websites online that offer hotel deals and vacation packages, but we found lasvegas.com to be perfect for booking hotel rooms. Their website is easy to use and is secure (in case you are concerned about using your credit card over the internet) when it comes to paying for your reservation. As a starting point we recommend you book your hotel rooms at least 30 days in advance, maybe 60 days if you can plan your trip that far ahead (as we mentioned earlier Vegas is busy and rooms sell out). Before you make your room reservation ask yourself a few questions like, how long am I going to stay? How much can I afford to spend on a hotel? What amenities are you looking for in your hotel (spa, nightclubs, gambling, etc.)? It is always better to know how much money you can afford and what you are looking for before you get on the internet and start booking hotel rooms. Whatever you do, have fun in Vegas and get a little wild.. If you have children with you then Circus Circus would be a great hotel, but if you are alone or with friends you might try New York New York Hotel.
Las Vegas Hotel Deals Downtown:
If you are traveling to Vegas and you want to save a little money then you need to consider staying downtown. Downtown is where Vegas really started with casinos like the El Cortez, Plaza, and Lady Luck which have been around for years. Certain times of year like New Years Eve or Super Bowl weekend are going to be fairly expensive no matter where you stay in Vegas. There are a lot of hotels in downtown Vegas and we have reviewed the places with the best rates overall (considering amenities, location, and discount offers). First place to consider is the Plaza Hotel - located on Fremont Street in downtown Vegas the Plaza has rooms as cheap as $35 a night on a Wednesday or Thursday night. Another good hotel downtown that is affordable is Fitzgeralds which has 640 rooms and free entertainment, plus the video jukebox lounge, two floors of gaming, several dining choices and one of the best spots to see the Fremont Street Experience - $37 for a Thursday night. The Four Queens is a favorite among tourists and it offers air conditioning, in-room safe, flat panel televisions, electronic door locks, hair dryer, radio and telephone all for only $39 on a Thursday night. The last hotel in downtown Vegas that we looked at was The Golden Nugget which has 1900 rooms and all kinds of amenities (pool, spa, sports books, internet, table games, salon). You can get a room there for only $69 a night on Thursday (we think this is the best bargain in Vegas) and there rooms are comparable to the major strip hotels. You can find all these deals on vegas.com. Remember prices are subject to change depending on time of year and holidays, etc.
