Mandalay Bay Hotel - Casino - Resort Review and Guide:
When you come to Las Vegas on vacation you have to check out Mandalay Bay and TheHotel at Mandalay Bay. Mandalay Bay is located on Las Vegas Blvd (the south end of the strip near MCcarran airport) right next door to the Luxor. Mandalay Bay is within walking distance to many casinos like MGM, New York New York, Excalibur, Aladdin, Monte Carlo, Paris, and Tropicana. I live in Las Vegas, but I have stayed at Mandalay a few times when my friends were in town visiting and they had a suite there. There rooms are nice, clean, and pretty affordable on certain days of the week. Right now you can stay at Mandalay on a Monday night for $109.00 which is not bad when you compare that with their weekend rate (usually closer to $250 - $500 a night). Mandalay Bay has a great floor plan and offers a ton of gambling options like craps, blackjack, poker, slots, roulette, pai gow, and 3 card poker. During the week you might find $10 tables for blackjack or any of the other table games, but on Friday and Saturday night don't be surprised to see the minimum bet raised to $15 or $25.
There is a lot of information online about Mandalay Bay, so we did our best to review the popular sights and activities that most tourists seem to enjoy. The best advice I have about staying at Mandalay Bay is to book your trip early (make your room reservations now) and check out websites like vegas.com for discounts, coupons, and promotional deals. Some people come to Vegas for a wedding, to see a boxing match, a concert, to gamble, or just to party. Whatever your reason for coming to Las Vegas just remember to have FUN.
Mandalay Bay Hotel Rooms - Rates - Reservations:
How about making a room reservation at Mandalay Bay? Mandalay Bay is a 5 star casino - resort and you won't be disappointed once you step into their beautiful lobby. There are over 3300 rooms at Mandalay Bay and the casino has over 135,000 sq ft. The hotel is mostly gold in color with a little black and white mixed in (it just looks luxurious and wealthy). Unlike some of the casinos in Vegas that have a weird design (like Luxor and MGM), Mandalay Bay is just 2 large towers that sit on the south end of Las Vegas Blvd. Booking a room midweek at Mandalay Bay is much cheaper than the weekend (sometimes over 50% cheaper) and the city is still a lot of fun during the week. Rates change all the time at the casinos in Vegas so your best bet to find room rates is to check out the official Mandalay Bay website at mandalaybay.com. All the rooms at Mandalay Bay are comfortable and elegant, and if you have the money then you can stay in their suites and high roller rooms which are absolutely Amazing. If you were planning a trip to Vegas for example on April 27-29 (a Friday and Saturday night) with 2 adults in 1 room you would pay $700.00 total for the Standard Room. These rooms would include air conditioning, alarm clocks, remote-controlled cable TV, desk, electronic door locks, hair dryer, iron and board, pay-per-view movies, radio and telephone. The minimum age to reserve a room is 21 years old, and the maximum number of people allowed in a room is 4.
Mandalay Bay Restaurants and Nightclubs:
Are you going to be visiting Las Vegas, Nevada? Would you like to find out about their nice restaurants and cool clubs? There is so much to do in Vegas, let alone just at Mandalay Bay so we have reviewed their hot nightspots and dining establishments. I have lived in Las Vegas for 4 years now and Mandalay Bay is one of my favorite casinos in the city. Some of the signature restaurants at Mandalay Bay Resort are China Grill, Red Square, Rum Jungle and Stripsteak. Mix is a very sexy restaurant that is located on the 51st story and has incredible views of Las Vegas Boulevard. Mix serves French and American dishes with the average bill being about $100 per person - it's not cheap. Some of the casual places to eat at Mandalay Bay are Border Grill, Burger Bar, and The House of Blues. House of Blues is a live concert venue and a restaurant, but the food is surprisingly good for a place that has live bands. I usually eat their chicken salad when I go there and you can expect to spend about $25 per person on one of their Southern dishes. If you like to party then you will love the nightlife that Mandalay Bay offers to its guests. My favorite club in Mandalay Bay is Mix, but you can also try House of Blues, Rum Jungle, Fourty Deuce, or pick one of the several casino bars available. Rum Jungle is more of a nightclub vibe where you pay a cover charge, House of Blues is a great venue to see live music, and Fourty Deuce is a little place with a lounge feel. Mandalay Bay Pool / Tickets / Concert Events:
The Mandalay Bay pool is just amazing! Do you want to sit by the pool at Mandalay Bay? The pool is like a beach resort with a wave pool, sand, girls, drinking, and a good time. Their pool is considered by many tourists to be the best pool in Las Vegas, NV and I would have to agree with them. Covering 11 acres, the tropical park features three exotic pools, water gardens with lush foliage, waterfalls, fountains, the sandy beach, lazy river, and of course the wave pool. Guests can rent rafts and inner tubes, but the pool does have a cover charge (which is ridiculous) costing between $10 and $50. For complete details and pics check out vegas.com/resorts/pools/mandalaybaypool.html. Are you trying to buy concert or event tickets? Do you need tickets to a UFC fight at the convention center? Well if you are looking for tickets to a show, concert, fight, or any special event at Mandalay Bay then try mandalaybay.com/entertainment/eventcalendar.aspx where you can view their event calendar and purchase seating for any event. Tickets to shows at Mandalay Bay can be expensive (Bon Jovi is playing in May and tix start at $100.00), but their facilities are amazing and you get what you pay for.
Mandalay Bay Spa and Salon / Shopping:
Mandalay Bay is known for it's first class amenities and decor, but their spa-salon is definitely worth checking out on your next visit to Vegas. The spa at Mandalay Bay is 30,000 sq ft and provides amazing services (facials, massages) to all their guests. If you like to exercise while on vacation then you won't be disappointed by their 3,000 sq ft fitness center that is equipped with state of the art equipment. They offer some great deals in the spa like the Island Experience - 3 hours Swedish Massage, Deep Pore Cleansing Facial, Fijian Sugar Polish, and Fijian Sugar Pedicure. For pricing and other spa packages check out mandalaybay.com/thingstodo/spamandalay.aspx. Mandalay Bay also offers a wide variety of shopping options for you women (and some men) who love to shop! Some of the big name stores you will find at Mandalay Bay are Max & Co., Shoe Obsession, Nora Blue, and LOOK. Just a warning though, shopping at Mandalay Place is not cheap and even a regular t shirt could cost you $30 or $40.
