You can rent from Las Vegas, Denver, Orlando, Phoenix, and even Anchorage. The Payless rewards program (Payless Perks) will give you instant savings and discounts on your next rental. My only complaint with Payless is that they have too many off-site locations that can waste your time and energy when renting a vehicle. I once used them in a southern city and it took an extra 30 minutes renting and returning the car compared to using a more acclaimed company nearer to the airport. You can save some money using smaller rental firms like Payless but you have to be wise in choosing when and where to use them. The Payless fleet of vehicles includes cars like the Hyundai Accent, Nissan Sentra, Dodge Charger, Caravan, Sebring, Ford 500 and Ford Explorer.
Booking a Payless Car online?:No matter which rental car company you choose to rent with, always try to book it online. When you use a website to make your reservation you can quickly enter in various discount codes and coupons to see which saves you the most money. With Payless you can pick your vehicle type - economy, compact, intermediate, full size, premium, luxury, van, sports utility, crossover, convertible, and specialty cars. Some cars are only available at certain locations so be sure to check when making your reservation. We found their list of convertibles to be extensive in Las Vegas but in Colorado you have a wider choice of SUVs for the wintry conditions. Just type in your pick-up location (airport code or city, the days you want the vehicle, and the car type. Don't forget to enter in your Perks No or Discount/promo codes to get the lowest rates possible. You can view, modify, or cancel any reservation online. We saw many rentals on their website that ranged between $20-$40/day for quality cars. There are periodic specials so check back often to find them.Coupons and Discount Codes:Finding discount rates is a little tougher with Payless since their fees are quite low to begin with. We found several coupons on the actually website for Payless and we also did a search on Google for "Payless car rental coupons" which turned up several sites that list codes or promotional rates that are current (most of them). Whenever you rent a car from any company, always try to located some kind of discount code to save yourself a few bucks. It only take a few minutes and usually you can save 20 to 30% off the rack rate.Payless Perks:Joining the frequent rental program will provide you with discounted rates, quick reservations, coupons. Registration is free at the Paylesscarrental.com website. Just click on the Perks Program and enter in your name and email address to get on their emailing list and entered into their database. It's free to do so it's worth the effort once to get e-coupons and promo codes sent once in a while to compare them to other rental car companies. For what it's worth, we found several listings in the rental car forums related to the Payless frequent rental program and several people were disappointed with the lack of customer service they encountered. Although these scenarios were limited in scope from what we could read, it doesn't appear that Payless is rated as high as Hertz and Avis for a reason. Business travelers may want to stick with the bigger companies that hand out more perks to the regular business customers.
