New Nokia Cell Phones for 2005-2006: 6600, 8800, 6102, 6101, 6230, 6630, n90:

Nokia is the best mobile cell phone manufacturer hands down. Their latest 2006 models (coming soon) will be the Nokia N80, N90, 9300, 6236i, 6155i, 6061, 6030, 2128i, 2126i, and the 2125i. All the newest Nokia phones will have enhanced digital cameras with higher resolution photos and better quality color screens. Many will include video features and improved MMS and Bluetooth wireless capabilities. Keyboards will be easier to access and sound quality will be crystal clear. So much for what is to come in 2006, keep reading below to find out what is hot in 2005.

The current line of Nokia Mobile phones dominate the market with the overall features they provide (someone at Nokia has done their market research). The Nokia 9500 is one of the hottest sellers on the market these days for $729. It comes with a complete communication center, business critical applications, and large memory storage. Ideal for the busy professional always on the move. The 6682 is another best buy for consumers with built in camera, Nokia Xpress Print, and a reduced size MultimediaCard (MMC). Sells for $449. The color screen is perfect for displaying photos or video taken from the phone. The Nokia 6600 continues to pull in strong sales ($279) with its integrated camera and video recorder, color display with 65K colors, and mobile internet built in browser. The phone also supports ringtones which the younger market can't live without. The Nokia 8800 (8801) is our favorite with a sleek and inviting look that dazzles with a stainless steel key cover which glides open to reveal the true guts of this workhorse. It's almost like buying a nice piece of jewelry.

Best Nokia Camera Phone:

The newest camera phone from Nokia is the 7280, they call it the "going out phone". It has the candy bar look and feel to it that expands to reveal the camera and video features. The Navi Spinner keyless dial is unique and functions well. The phone retails for $449. The only drawback is that it does not support downloadble ringtones, games or graphics. The other popular camera phone is the Nokia 6170 with a resolution of 640 X 480 pixels and supports over 65K colors. The sleek stainless steel cover gives the feeling of a camera. Pictures quality is ok, but not good. Considering digital cameras are up to 8.1 megapixels, the cell phone industry needs to pick up the pace and get past 2 megapixels to even compete with clearer pictures. Seems like all the pictures we took were either blurry or too dark.

Accessories for Nokia Phones:

Besides ringtones, people love accessories to put that personal touch on their Nokia phones. We found the NokiaUSA.com site to offer the cheapest and best variety of accessory items like the HDW-Wireless Headset ($79.99) or the HS-4W Wireless Boom Headset ($119) for hands free calling. You can get covers, batteries (which seem to be an issue on many cell phones these days), Bluetooth products, chargers and desk stands, cases and clips, and car kits. The site is setup logically where you can search by each phone model and find accessories made just for that Nokia phone. For example, the Nokia N90 Phone has special data memory products, imaging products, batteries, headsets and car kits. That's the one thing I don't like about cell phones is that accessories tend to fit one phone and are not generic across the wireless industry. When you switch from one phone to the next you always need to upgrade your charger or battery. Doesn't make much sense for consumers.

How do I get ringtones on my Nokia phone?

Since ringtones are the most popular accessory item sold for cell phones, Nokia has actually designed their phones to handle ringtones with ease. You can customize the setup where you assign a specific ringtone for a particular person in your caller address book. The phone rings with a specific ringer and you know right away who it is. Ringtones are sold on an individual basis or sometimes in a monthly service plan that is a set fee for unlimited downloads. Check with your carrier on their rules for downloading ringtones. We suggest you try one of the ringtone services on the Internet like Jamster, EZ Tracks, or DadaMobile. Most are $.99 and the library of songs available has really grown so you can get pretty much any modern song put onto your cell phone.
