News, Review, and Pictures of the new Nokia N91 cellular phone - MP3 included
The recently announced N91 phone from Nokia represents an opening salvo in the war between MP3 players and cell phones- who wants to carry around 2 devices? A little smaller than the Treo 650 and weighing about the same as an iPod 20GB, the N91 is the first (available end of 2005) to contain a 4GB microdrive for holding up to 1000 MP3 songs and a 2MP camera phone. Add to that USB connectivity for direct connection to your PC for downloading files (and hopefully your own ringtones as well, no more paying $2 a pop!), and you have quite a package. (some larger pictures below).
The design is quite nice - encased in shiny stainless steel, a dedicated music control pad slides down to reveal the standard number keypad underneath. It also has a standard 3.5mm stereo headphone jack (on top of phone) for listening to those MP3 tunes. As Nokia says, "It's truly the world's best mobile connected jukebox." MP3 playback (along with M4A, AAC and WMA) is good for over 12 hours on a battery charge (or 4 hours of talk time). With Bluetooth and Wi-FI built in, you can also share songs and playlists with similarly equipped phones - WOW!

Cost.. Price is will likely be $700-$900 (before discounts for service activation) - not cheap. With the new iPod nano available for $249 (4GB), you could strap your nano to the back of a RAZR and have a smaller combo phone (with a 1MP camera instead of 2, though) - someone get the duct tape!
