News, Review, and Pictures of the palmOne Treo 650 cell phone
An upgrade to the popular Treo 600 model, the Treo 650 phone from palmOne combines cell phone, organizer, MP3 player (with an expansion card), camera, web browser, and email into one package. It features a 320x320 65K color touch screen (you dial the phone by pushing pictures of buttons on the screen), Bluetooth connectivity, support for Word, Excel, and Powerpoint files (editing and viewing), and full keyboard for thumb typing. (some larger pictures below).
The Treo 650 comes with the Versamail email client with support for IMAP or POP3 email accounts, and full access to attachments. In line with traditional Palm functionality, there is complete calendar, scheduler, PIM functionality as expected. The keyboard is a definite improvement over the 600 version, with raised edges on each key for better feel and less errors. Unfortunately, the camera is still just VGA quality (640x480 pixels), but picture quality is also better than the 600, especially for indoor shots. For storing MP3 music or data files, Palm includes a 128MB SD memory card.
